A: This appears to be a 'feature' of Firefox 3.x - The latest version of the Firefox browser appears to render the page styles a little differently that the previous 2.x versions. This will be addressed in a future update of the HCHNET.

A:We are having problems with the registration process at the mement - you registration details might not be saved to the server. If you have not received an automated confirmation e-mail of your registration then please telephone the School Office and we can register your details or complete the site help e-mail form... which is known to be working fine!

Although the HCHNET intranet and the user survey are on the same web server, they are separate applications... using your unique token to start a survey ensures only you complete one survey, it does not link in any way to the user database of the main intranet site.

A: Contact us and if you can give up some of your time to help with usability, the development of content and documentation we would be eternally grateful... :)

You are likely using Safari - the flagship Apple web browser. HCHNET is built on LINUX open source and likes Mozilla based browsers - Firefox - the best!

A: The registration process requires that you respond to the registration confirmation e-mail that is sent to the e-mail account you have registered with. This ensures that you have registered with a valid e-mail address that belongs to you.

If you have registered but not responded to the automated registration e-mail by clicking through on the link in the e-mail body then do so now. If you have not got the e-mail it is possible that it has been:

1. Typed incorrectly, or

2. Tagged as spam by your e-mail spam filter. If the e-mail spam filter is managed by yourself, check your junk (or spam) e-mail folder. It is entirely possible that the spam filtering on your mailbox is out of your direct control. You can either contact your mailbox administrator and ask them to allow e-mail from hchnet.co.uk (78.105.2.100) or let us know so we can manually activate your account.

A: OK - you have caught us out here... the automated registration e-mail system has picked up the default local server name rather than the public Internet name for HCHNET. The site settings were changed before HCHNET went public but we have not rebooted the server - we shall do this at the first convenient opportunity!

A: Notifications (e-mail updates when site content has changed) are currently not working. The web server needs further configuration to enable this really useful feature. This configuration will be done over the course of the next few days.

A: To be quite honest, we don't really know:(

However, we do know that you can return to the home page by clicking on the HCHNET logo, or you can choose any of the other user menu items - 'Site Map' or 'Tag Cloud'.
